ABEL (EBR. *JĀBHĀL*, GRECO *ἸΩΒΉ*)

ABEL (Hebrew *Jābhāl*, Greek *Ἰωβή*). - Cainite, son of Lamech and Ada. He was the first to initiate the life of the nomadic herdsman (Gen. 4:20). He is the primary culture of the patriarchal Altaic, Indo-European, and Hamito-Semitic peoples.
