DOMINGO Y SOL, MANUEL. – Priest, born in Tortosa (Spain) on 1 April 1839, died there on 25 January 1909. Ordained priest on 2 June 1860, he obtained academic degrees in Valencia and then devoted himself to intense apostolic work. Animated by ardent zeal for the young clergy, he took care to form them, establishing for this purpose in 1885 the Congregation of Diocesan Workers. In 1892 he founded in Rome the Spanish college for Spanish clerics who come to pursue ecclesiastical studies. He fostered among his students the devotion of reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The cause of his beatification has been introduced before the Sacred Congregation of Rites.
