ARCHEO. - A., qui post discipulos domini episcopus fuit Leptitanae urbis (present-day Homs-Lebda east of Tripoli), is said to be the author, in a Vatican codex (codex Vat. Reginae Suecicae, 130), of a short work on the paschal question. He maintained against the Asians that Easter should be celebrated only on Sunday. This question was agitated toward the end of the 2nd century, to which period A. must have belonged. He is the most ancient African bishop known to us.
