Douay-Rheims and the Clementine Vulgate

The Holy Bible

The Douay-Rheims Bible (Challoner revision) beside the Clementine Vulgate, in the Vulgate's numbering — the numbering the Enciclopedia Cattolica cites. Each chapter lists the articles of the encyclopedia that cite it.

Each chapter can also be read in the original Douay-Rheims, in the spelling of the print: the New Testament published at Rheims in 1582 and the Old Testament at Douay in 1609-10, with their annotations. The text most read today is Richard Challoner's revision of 1749-52.
