ALESSIO DI SANTA MARIA

ALESSIO of SANTA MARIA. — Discalced Carmelite, in secular life Giovanni Matteo Lubati; born at Carrù (Mondovì) on 25 Feb. 1648, he took the habit at Mondovì on 16 July 1665; he lived almost always in Turin, enduring with admirable patience the severe illnesses that afflicted him for many years, and there he died on 20 Feb. 1723.

He published several short spiritual works for the preparation of the feasts of the Madonna, of St Joseph, writings on the mysteries of the Faith, and a Life of St Anne Mary of St Joachim (Turin 1713).
