SPECIAL ADMINISTRATION OF THE HOLY SEE. – This is an office, based in Vatican City, established by the Supreme Pontiff Pius XI by motu proprio of 7 June 1929, for the management of the funds paid by the Italian government to the Holy See in implementation of the Financial Convention annexed to the Lateran Treaty of 11 February 1929, and for carrying out other administrative duties. Article 2 of the Fundamental Law of the State of Vatican City, 7 June 1929, no. 1, included this administration among those directly dependent on the Supreme Pontiff.
