ANTONIO da KÜNIGSTEIN (CONINGSTEIN). - A Dutch Franciscan (his surname is Bruich, or Brockway, or Brakway), preacher and controversialist during the Protestant Reformation, born c. 1470 in Nijmegen, died 11 Dec. 1541 near Emmerich. He served as guardian in several convents and as preacher at the cathedral of Cologne.
His principal work is the *Concordantiae breviores* (Cologne 1529; many editions), a concise concordance of biblical words for preachers’ use. Other works include: *Passio D. N. I. Chr. secundum 4 Evangelistas*, Paris 1533 (perhaps identical with the *Monotessaron Evangeliorum* mentioned by various authors: Cologne 1539 and frequently reprinted); *Postillae in omnibus festivitatibus B. V.*; *Postillae in Epistolas et Evangelia dominicalia*; *Commentaria in Epistolas S. Pauli*, Paris 1543.
