BAROLO, GIULIA VITURNIA FRANCESCA, marquise of. - Born in the Vendée to the family of the minister Colbert, in his fief of Maulevrier, on 27 June 1785; died in Turin on 19 January 1864. She was an exile in Germany and Holland with her father and his family during the Revolution. Returning to France under Napoleon, she was summoned by him to join his court, where she met Marquis Carlo Tancredi Falletti of Barolo, whom she married in 1807; after the Restoration, she settled with him in Turin, in the ancestral palace of the Barolos (1814).
