CALTUSCO, TADDEO. – Preacher and biblical scholar, born in Milan in the second half of the 17th century, died there on 21 April 1720. He became an Augustinian in the city’s convent of S. Marco. He gained renown as a skilled preacher and learned scriptural scholar. Within his Order and in the service of the Milanese archbishop, Cardinal Archinto, he held various offices. Yet he never abandoned his studies.
Besides discourses and panegyrics left in manuscript, his printed works deserving special mention include: *Varie notizie per facilitare l'intelligenza e lo studio della S. Scrittura* (Milan 1708); *Esame della religione protestante o sia pretesa riformata* (Venice 1720).
