FINA (SERAFINA), Saint. — Virgin, born in the year 1238 at San Gimignano (Tuscany) to Cambio Imperia; she lived in that century, a model of modesty and piety, of charity and industry, of mortification and patience amid the most grievous misfortunes that tested her. She died on 12 March 1253, on the feast of St Gregory the Pope, as had been revealed to her, and was buried in the church of San Gimignano.
