FRANCESCANE MISSIONARIE DI S. GIUSEPPE. — They were founded by Mother Alice Inghan; at the insistence of Cardinal Vaughan, they transferred in 1874 to Mill Hill, where they work in close collaboration with the missionary fathers of the local Society.

They devote themselves to the education of the young and to the care of the sick. Since 1885 they have been in the mission of Borneo settentrionale; since 1891 in the Netherlands and Ireland; they also have houses in the United States. In 1926 the congregation was aggregated to the Franciscan Order, and in 1930 it became of pontifical right. At present it has 37 houses with 314 religious.
