In the Latin commentary on the Book of Tobit it is stated that RAGUES, identified with the ruins of Rai, 13 km from Teheran, was situated in the mountains of Cebatana; the Sinaitic codex specifies that it was two days’ journey from that city (Tob. 5:6; Vulg. 5:8). GABRIEL not only restores the large sum (from the Greek text of Tob. 9:5 it appears to have been a deposit) to Raphael under the guise of Azariah, but also joyfully accompanies him to attend the wedding of his kinsman Tobiah, son of Tobit, to Sara, daughter of Raguel (Tob. 9:6 ff.).
