IOBAB (Heb. ßôbâbâh). — Name of various characters in the Old Testament.
The Jews of Elephantine (Papyrus Cowley 30). The room later took its name; in the time of Ezra it was a child (A. Fernandez, A. Médebielle [see bibl.]).
13. A Jew who sent away his foreign wife (Ezra 10:20).
14. Son of Tobiah the Ammonite, opponent of Nehemiah (Neh. 6:18).
15. Head of the priestly family of Amariah during the high priesthood of Johanan, shortly after the return from exile (Neh. 12:13).
16. A priest or Levite who participated in the dedication of the walls of Jerusalem (Neh. 12:42).
