Among the churches are: Santa Maria della Vittoria, consecrated in 1518; Cristo della Salute, formerly served by the Fathers of the Society of Jesus who are now at San Agostino; San Giuliano, attached to the Hospital of Charity, erected in 1669, with paintings by Guevara; San Pietro, erected as a parish in 1658, later transferred to Nostra Signora del Carmelo; San Giuseppe, built in 1545.

ARCHAEOLOGY. — Excavations carried out at San Pietro di Alcantara in Málaga, at the site known as Vega del Mar, have brought to light a Christian cemetery and a basilica divided by pillars into three naves; opposite the apse was a second one used for burials, and to the right of the main apse a baptistery communicating with the basilica by means of arches supported by columns, with a cross-shaped font and another rectangular one nearby.
The basilica dates from after the earthquake of 365, while the tombs belong to the Visigothic period (6th–7th centuries).
