VARNONDO, Blessed — Sermon of V. to the people against Arduino, Amadeus his brother, and Eurardus, a person otherwise unknown, on the occasion, it seems, of the second excommunication (997-99). The text, preserved in the *Liber benedictionum per totius animi circuli*, commissioned by V., was published by L. G. Provana, *Studi critici sopra la storia d'Italia ai tempi del Re Ardoino*. Turin 1844, pp. 340-41 — Archive of the Chapter of Irce.

C. Drago, *The states consecrated to bishops by the apostles Peter and Paul and sent to Spain to preach the Gospel there.*

They would later have spread to various cities where they performed many conversions. The legend is evidently unacceptable; however, their names are found in ancient calendars or collections of relics. According to Delehaye, they were authentic bishops of the various cities to which they are individually attributed, living in uncertain times but certainly not in the apostolic age. They are commemorated on May 15.
