AGASSIZ, Louis. - Swiss zoologist, b. at Möter on March 28, 1807, d. at Cambridge, Mass., on Dec. 14, 1873. He introduced comparative anatomy, embryology, and zoology to America. A believing spirit, he saw in the variety of forms the expression of divine omnipotence.
