"AGNI NUP. TIAS". - Hymn of the Vespers of St. Juliana of Falconieri (v.). It takes the form of a prayer and recalls certain episodes from the saint’s life. The elegance of form is not always matched by poetic inspiration, since it is a cold narration of the most salient events in a life of high mysticism; moreover, the author, Francesco Lorenzini, has been too much influenced by
the sacred poets. The hymn, which is found in manuscripts of the 8th and 9th centuries, was completely reworked under Urban VIII and now consists of six iambic dimeters in place of the original trochaic dimeters.
