ANALECTA ECCLESIASTICA. - A monthly periodical published in Rome from January 1893 to December 1911, founded and directed by Monsignor Félix Cadène (1864-1907), who upon his death entrusted its publication to the chaplains of S. Luigi dei Francesi. Numerous learned prelates of the Curia collaborated on II. The series presented itself almost as a continuation of the Analecta iuris pontificii (q.v.) and brought to light new papal documents and those of the Sacred Congregations; ancient documents elucidating historical, juridical, and theological questions; articles and chronicles of various kinds. The first two sections were of greater length.
A decennial index was published: A. e., Index generalis decem priorum voluminum ab anno scilicet 1893 ad annum 1902 inclusive, Rome 1904 (subsequent volumes are also provided with detailed analytical indices).
