BARAZZI, PIETRO. — Humanist bishop, born in Venice in 1441, died in Padua on 10 January 1507. Barely thirty years old, he was appointed Bishop of Belluno (1470), then transferred to Padua (1487), a see he held until his death. An exemplary pastor of high spirituality, he was also a renowned man of letters and a fine Latin poet, as evidenced by the hexameters of the *Vita Christi*, still unpublished. Several posthumous works of profound ascetical learning include: *De modo bene moriendi*, published in Italian at Portogruaro (1858), *Consolatori libri tres*, *Officium ad deprecandam pestilentiam*, *ad impetrandam pluviam*, *ad aëris serenitatem poscendam*.
