BAUDRY (BAUDRY) MICHEL. — Liturgist, born at Évron around 1585, died in 1660. He worked to complete the Rituale, published by Msgr. de Montchail, Archbishop of Toulouse, undertaking long and arduous journeys to acquaint himself with the liturgical customs of various Churches.
The fruit of his research is the Manuale sacrarum caerimoniarum iuxta ritum sanctae romanae ecclesiae (Paris 1637). The work went through six editions and served as a guide to those who dealt with Roman ceremonies.
