BEROIS (Beroisus), AUGUSTINUS. - Civilist and decretalist, b. at Bologna in 1474, d. 15 Sept. 1554. A layman, he was professor of civil law at Bologna in 1504; then in 1507 he taught canon law. He wrote Commentaria and Lecturae on the various books of the Gregorian Decretals, which were also published separately. He is also the author of Consilia and Quaestiones.
