BERTOLDO of Mosburg (Moosburg, Maas-Berch). - A Dominican scholastic of the first half of the 16th century. Perhaps a disciple of Dietrich of Freiburg (de Wulf), he taught in Cologne. In 1318 he wrote a commentary on Aristotle’s *Metaphorologica*. His principal work is the *Expositio in elementationem theologicam Procli* (*Stoicheiōsis theologikē*). Grabmann cites two manuscripts of this work: Vat. lat. 2192 and Balliol College 104. A convinced advocate of Neoplatonism and doctrinally related to Albert the Great and the German Dominican school, B. exerted considerable influence, and echoes of admiration for his writings are still found in the works of Cardinal Cusanus.
