Hymn of the Morning Office on the feast of St. Joseph, first found in a Benedictine breviary of 1580.
In a flowing and harmonious sapphic verse, the few passages of the Gospel where the action of the holy Patriarch appears are recalled. The first stanza addresses him as the adornment of heaven, the hope of our life, and the salvation of the world, preluding to his declaration as Patron of the Universal Church by Pius IX.
