"CAELO REDEMPTOR PRAETULIT". — Hymn of Matins on the feast of the Maternity of the Blessed Virgin. It is found in a Portuguese breviary of the 1700s, and only in 1931 did Pius XI, in memory of the centenary of the Council of Nicaea, include it in the Roman Breviary together with the office of the Maternity, whose feast was extended to the universal Church. The content is expository in a precise and dogmatic form.
