CORR. AR. ANTONIO. – Cardinal, b. in Venice in 1369. He was the nephew of Angelo C., later Pope GREGORY XII, and lived with the religious of S. Giorgio in Alga together with Gabriele Condulmer, the future EUGENE IV. Created by his uncle as chamberlain and bishop of Modone, he was immediately transferred to Bologna (March 1407) and created cardinal at Lucca on 9 May 1408; he became bishop of Porto in 1409 and then of Ostia in March 1431. Papal legate in Germany and Flanders on 13 Dec. 1408, he took part in the election of MARTIN V in 1417; legate at Perugia in 1425 and for the peace between Florence and Siena in 1431; d. at Padua on 19 Jan. 1445 in a reputation for holiness and was buried in Venice.
