NICOLA DI VERDUN – The Verduneraltar. The 51 gilded-copper and enamel plaques formed an ambo, commissioned by Provost Wernher (1181). The present-day triptych dates from 1322–24. It depicts the life of Christ, with the types of the Old Testament. Klosterneuburg.
For the miracles he performed, Urban II canonized him in 1098. Principal patron saint of the city of Trani; feast day 2 June.
