Giuseppe Radicotti. — Musicologist, b. at Jesi on 25 Jan. 1859, d. at Tivoli on 4 Apr. 1931.
He studied at the University of Rome, where he later became a teacher in secondary schools; in 1895 he transferred to the Lycée of Tivoli.
A keen researcher and critic of music history, particularly with regard to the Marches, he published numerous important studies on the music and musicians of that region, foremost among them G. Rossini and G. B. Pergolesi, to whom he devoted his best works. Besides various monographs on the history of the theatre, the following stand out: L’arte musicale in Tivoli nei secc.
