REICHERT, BENEDIKT MARIA. - Dominican historian, born 9 Feb. 1868 at Amorbach, died 29 Jan. 1917 at Priesendorf near Bamberg.
He entered the Dominican Order in 1889 and was ordained priest in 1895. From 1896 to 1926 he resided in Rome. The fruit of his historical work includes the *Vitae fratrum Ordinis Praedicatorum* (1896), the nine-volume *Acta capitularum generalium* of the Dominican Order (1898–1924), and the *Registrum litterarum Magistrorum generalium*, in three parts (1911–12). In 1927 he became librarian at Pommersfelden, and in 1915 he was entrusted with the care of the parish of Priesendorf.
