Giuseppe SACCHIETTI. — Journalist, born in Arlesega (Padova) on 21 May 1845, died in Florence on 20 October 1906.
He took an active part in the intransigent Catholic movement; volunteered in the Papal militia (1869), an effective polemicist and staunch defender of the formula “neither elected nor electors,” he subsequently directed several Venetian periodicals and dailies (Letture cattoliche, Codino, Veneto cattolici, in the years 1870–90), adhering to this current; in Milan: La lega lombarda; in Rome: La voce della verità.
