SAGONA (Saona). – Ancient diocese in Corsica (v.), formerly a suffragan of Pisa, suppressed on 29 November 1801 by Pius VII and united to the see of Ajaccio. Its last bishop was the Franciscan monsignor Matteo Guasco.
