SALERMANTINE OF MARY HELP OF CHRISTIANS. — Founded at Dunkirk in 1849 by Mathilde Marie de Stickler (Mother Maria Giuseppe di Gesù).
Approved the same year by Cardinal Régnier, Archbishop of Paris, they received from Pius IX in 1857 the decree of praise. The definitive approval of the Institute and its Constitutions came in 1887. Devoted to the adoration of the Most Holy Eucharist in perpetual thanksgiving, the sisters also dedicate themselves to preparing young people for their First Communion and to retreats for ladies. The Institute has 4 houses, one in Italy, one in Switzerland, and two in France, with 40 religious.
