PERPETUAL ADORATRICES OF ST. MARY OF GUADALUPE. - They arose in Mexico in 1881 through the work of Sister Maddalena dell'Incarnazione, and took the name and rules of the homonymous institution founded in Rome about a century earlier, approved by Pius VII on 22 July 1818, and by Leo XIII on 7 Dec. 1898. The sisters devote themselves, in addition to Eucharistic worship, to the Christian and civil education and instruction of young women. They have 12 houses with over 300 religious.
