ALESSANDRO I DI GIULIA (GIULIAETZ),

ALESSANDRO I of GIULIA (GIULIAETZ), - Katholikos of Egimazian from 1706 to 1714. A Monophysite and opposed to the Latin missionaries—certainly also due to a lack of mutual understanding—he wrote to Clement XI requesting that their activity be regulated. The pope’s cordial and paternal response (15 March 1710) represents the last communication between the Pope and the patriarchs of Egimazian.
