ANDRZIO (ANDROTIO), Fulvio. – Jesuit, ascetical writer, b. at Montecchio in 1523, d. at Ferrara on 27 Aug. 1575. He was renowned as a doctor of law at the court of Rome, and later became canon of the Holy House of Loreto. At the age of 32 (1555) he entered the Society of Jesus; in 1557 he went as rector to the college at Florence, and shortly afterwards to that at Ferrara, which he governed for 18 years.
He is known for three fine ascetical works, often reprinted and translated into Latin, Spanish, German, English, French, Flemish, and Polish: *On the Meditation of the Life and Death of Our Saviour*; *On the Frequency of Communion*; *On the Commendable State of Widows* (Milan 1579).
