ANDRUZZI, Luigi. — Greek Catholic scholar, born at Ammochostos in Cyprus in 1684, died in 1757. Having gone as a child to the Greek College in Rome, he studied philology and philosophy there. He was a professor in Bologna and took part in the struggle of those times against Protestants and Eastern Orthodox, represented by the patriarch of Jerusalem, Dositeo. In his very numerous works, he repeats without originality the arguments of the Latin Church. He is said to have left manuscript works that remain unpublished.
