ANDRUZZI, Luigi. - Greek Catholic scholar, b. at Ammochostos in Cyprus in 1684, d. in 1757. Having moved as a boy to the Greek college in Rome, he studied philology and philosophy there. He was a professor at Bologna and took part in the struggle of those times against Protestants and Eastern Orthodox, represented by the patriarch of Jerusalem Dositheus. In his very numerous works he repeats without originality the arguments of the Latin Church. He is said to have left manuscript works still unpublished.
