ANDROZIO (ANDROTIO), FULVIO. – Jesuit, ascetical writer, b. at Montecchio in 1523, d. at Ferrara on 27 August 1575. He was a renowned doctor of law at the court of Rome, then canon of the S. Casa of Loreto. At the age of 32 (1555) he entered the Society of Jesus; in 1557 he became rector of the college of Florence and shortly afterward of that of Ferrara, which he directed for 18 years.
He is known for three fine ascetical works, reprinted and translated several times into Latin, Spanish, German, English, French, Flemish, and Polish: On Meditation on the Life and Death of Our Savior; On Frequent Communion; On the Praiseworthy State of Widows (Milan 1579).
