ASSMAYER, IGNATZ. — Musician, born in Salzburg on 11 Feb. 1790, died in Vienna on 31 Aug. 1862. A pupil of Michael Haydn, he was a renowned organist and composer. As Master of the Court Chapel, he wrote 15 masses, 5 oratorios and many other sacred pieces, not all of them published.
