10th cent. He is the author of a Chronicle of his monastery and the surrounding region, which has come down to us incomplete, lacking both beginning and end, and mutilated also in the middle, in the sole manuscript that preserves it (Bibl. Chigi, F. IV, 75). Thus, as it survives, it extends from the reign of Julian the Apostate to the year 973. Uncultivated in expression, careless in narrative and in the use of sources, it nevertheless contains important information on the history of the city of Rome in the 10th cent., and on events and persons contemporary with him.
