Carmelite. Born at Racconigi (Cuneo, Italy) on 1 March 1710, he made his religious profession on 6 April 1728. From 1740 he was a missionary in the Great Mogul, specifically at the station of Karwar (Canara). On 15 June 1756 he was elected apostolic vicar of the Great Mogul, with the title of titular bishop of Assuntano, and established his residence at Karwar (or Sunkery), having been prevented by the English government from entering Bombay. He ended his life during a pastoral visitation in the kingdom of Canara, undertaken at the behest of the archbishop of Goa, on 25 Jan. 1772.
