A Carmelite. Born in Racconigi (Cuneo, Italy) on 1 March 1710, he made his religious profession on 6 April 1728. From 1740, he was a missionary in the Great Mughal Empire, specifically at the station of Karwar (Canara). On 15 June 1756, he was elected Vicar Apostolic of the Great Mughal, with the titular see of Assura, and established his residence in Karwar (i.e., Sunkery), as he was prevented by the English government from entering Bombay. He ended his life during a pastoral visitation in the Kingdom of Canara, carried out on behalf of the Archbishop of Goa, on 25 January 1772.
