DOMENICO della S.ma TRINITA. — By his baptismal name Antonino Tardy, French Discalced Carmelite theologian, born on 4 August 1616 at Nevers, died in Rome on 7 April 1687. From 1634 a Carmelite in Paris, he later served as definitor general (1656–59) and prepositus general (1659–65), as well as qualificator of the Sacred Congregation of the Index. He was highly esteemed for his learning and virtue.
His notable work, *Bibliotheca theologica* (7 vols., Rome 1665, 1676), constitutes a true encyclopedia of scholastic, positive, apologetic, and mystical theology.
