DOMENICO of SANTA TERESA. — Born O. Alonso y Pérez, a Discalced Carmelite theologian, he was born in 1604 in La Alberca (Castile) and died in Madrid in 1660 (not in 1654, as some erroneously wrote).
He taught theology for 24 years at the college in Salamanca, earning great esteem even within university circles. He was known by the name "doctor con-summatus" due to his extraordinary theological and philosophical learning. During this period, he published volumes IV and V of the famous *Cursus theologicus Salmanticensis* (Salamanca 1647), containing treatises on: *De fine ultimo*, *de beatitudine*, *de voluntario*, *de bonitate et malitia actuum humanorum*, and *de peccatis*. In 1658, he was elected definitor general and transferred to Madrid, where he became renowned for his great virtue and inexhaustible charity toward the poor and afflicted.
