DOMENICO da SAN GEMIGNANO. — Canonist. The year of his birth is unknown; that of his death, which occurred in Bologna, was before 1436.
He was a pupil of Antonio de Butrio and perhaps also of Pietro da Ancarano. As vicar general of Modena, he attended the Council of Pisa in 1400; he was subsequently a professor in Bologna for a long time and finally an auditor of the Apostolic Camera. He wrote notable commentaries on the Decree, the Collection of Gregory IX, and the Sext.
