DICASTILLO, JUAN de. – Spanish Jesuit theologian, born in Naples to Spanish parents on 28 December 1584, died in Ingolstadt on 6 March 1653. He entered religious life in 1600 and taught scholastic theology at Murcia and Toledo, then exegesis at Vienna, where he was also preacher to the imperial court.
He wrote: De iustitia et iure ceterisque virtutibus cardinalibus (Antwerp 1641); Tractatus de Incarnatione (there 1642); De Sacramentis (3 vols., there 1646–52); Tractatus duo de iuramento, periuriis et adiuratione, necnon de censuris et poenis ecclesiasticis (there 1662).
