DRIESDALE RIVER, Mission of. — It is an autonomous mission detached from the Apostolic Vicariate of Kimberley in Western Australia and erected by decree on 4 May 1910 for the evangelization of the Aborigines. As early as 1908, the Benedictines of New Norcia had founded II. About five fathers have always worked there. During the last war, the mission was bombed, suffering serious damage.
