EUSEBIUS, Saint, - Bishop of Laodicea, who lived in the 3rd century. As a deacon of Alexandria, he accompanied his bishop before the tribunal. Later, he distinguished himself in works of charity, especially during the plague of 260. Invited by his bishop in Syria to combat the heresy of Paul of Samosata, he took part in the 51st synod of Antioch in 264. Subsequently, he was elected Bishop of Laodicea, where he died (270-280). His feast is celebrated on July 3 or October 4.
