A philosophical and cultural periodical founded in 1887 in Milan. STOPPANI, ANTONIO (v.). Among its contributors were, among others, G. Bulgari, L. M. Billia, A. Cicuto, A. Catena, Bernardino Donati, Rinaldo Ferrini (father of Bl. Cantardo), S. Frati, L. Gastaldi, A. Moggia, Pagano Paganini, A. Tagliaferri, G. B. Zoppi.The principal aim of the periodical was the defence of Rosminian doctrines, which were then the subject of particularly heated controversy. Placed on the Index on 29 May 1889, it ceased publication. It was succeeded by *Il nuovo Rosminii*. All the contributors to the latter appeared either anonymously or under pseudonyms, with the exception of the aforementioned Billia, C. Forzati, L. Fronti and A. Villa. It had a very brief existence: placed on the Index on 20 February 1890, it likewise suspended publication. Giuseppe Bozzetti
