There he had, among others, Felice Lubienski, nephew of the primate archbishop Stanislao Lubienski, as a disciple, and accompanied him as tutor in Italy. Having left the Order shortly before its suppression, he continued his literary work and collected an immense number of documents for the history of Poland, which, together with the collection of Fr. A. S. Naruszewicz, comprise nearly 250 folio volumes. He possessed a broad culture and knew many languages. He founded the “Society of the Friends of the Sciences” in Warsaw. He wrote numerous works on Polish history.
