of the king’s library, then professor of philosophy at the college of nobles. Among his disciples there were, among others, Felice Lubienski, nephew of the Primate Archbishop Stasius Lubienski, whom he accompanied as tutor to Italy. Having left the Order shortly before its suppression, he continued his literary works and collected very extensive documents for the history of Poland, which, together with the collection of Fr. A. S. Naruszewicz, form almost 250 folio volumes. He had broad learning and knew many languages. He founded in Warsaw the “Society of the Friends of the Sciences.” He wrote numerous works on Polish history.
