He belonged to the Observants in 1440 (editions in Speculum Minorum, Rome 1509; Monumenta Ordinis Minorum, Salamanca 1511; Firmamentum trium Ordinum, Paris 1512). Within the same observance, it seems that N. favored the more rigid current, because it was in 1440 that he worked with Eugenius IV for the total separation from the Conventuals, and when this was granted with the bull Ut sacra of 1446, N. defended it tenaciously against the attacks of the Conventuals; and in 1453 he was part of the commission appointed by Nicolaus V for the examination and defense of the bull Ut sacra. He also wrote the Supplementum Summae Magistritiae seu Pisanellae (Genoa 1473 and 1474); the Quadriga spiritualis, completed in 1442 (posthumous edition, Jesi 1475); and the Operetta solgiri (ed. G. Spezi, Rome 1865).
